This volume offers a varied and informed series of approaches to questions of mobilitymdash;actual; social; virtual; and imaginarymdash;as related to visual culture. Contributors address these questions in light of important contemporary issues such as migration; globalization; trans-nationality and trans-cultural difference; art; space and place; new media; fantasy and identity; and the movement across and the transgression of the proprieties of boundaries and borders. The book invites the reader to read across the collection; noting differences or making connections between media and forms and between audiences; critical traditions and practitioners; with a view to developing a more informed understanding of visual culture and its modalities of mobility and fantasy as encouraged by dominant; emergent; and radical forms of visual practice.

Review
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great idea; very poor execution.By art teacherDespite the price; I was hoping for something better. Turns out itrsquo;s still too expensive for what it is. I like the idea; but it is executed poorly. The colors are over-saturated; so the pictures lose the depth and careful balance of the originals. I especially noticed some areas that are a delicate blue or orange in Gozsnak printings are garish in this booklet; while the reds here are more orangish and not as deep.Secondly; some of the illustrations are blurry; like they were taken from jpegs and the contrast was increased to make up for it. As a result; some fine lines are indistinct; while other outlines are too thick. The end result looks like what you would get if you photocopied another copy. I was hoping to use this booklet to show my students examples of color balance and use of muted colors; but Irsquo;m afraid theyrsquo;ll get the wrong idea from it!
