However; when I got to the pages with the patterns (which are attached in the back) my confusion began. They managed to cram the patterns for all the bags in this book onto two pages; front and back. The pattern pieces overlapped and when it came time to trace it took way more thought than I wanted to give to figure out which lines belonged to which pattern etc. So; if youre willing to invest some time into figuring out the method to their madness; go ahead and buy it. But if patterns confuse you; this probably isnt the book to start with.11 of 11 people found the following review helpful. You need to know how to read and work patternsBy VirgoI think this book has some really cute bags to sew; but a working knowledge of sewing and pattern reading is essential. One of the reviewers said how confusing the patterns are since they all are traced off on two sided paper; and that is the truth. You have to put the pattern on the window and trace if off on another piece of paper; and it does get confusing. You can also copy the pattern and tape the parts together to make a whole pattern; especially the smaller ones. Im only giving it 3 stars because I think it would have been much better if the publisher had traced out the patterns only on one side; using another piece of pattern paper or two. I have been sewing for a long time; so I can navigate the patterns without much trouble. I got the book form the library and then decided Id like to own it.Great ideas; great fabrics; a fun book if you know how to sew. If not.....2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great IdeasBy Lynn BagniewskiThe reason why I only gave this book 3 stars is because there are MULTIPLE patterns printed on each page (and both sides of the paper) so you cant just cut them out. You have to copy them and then tape the pieces together unless of course; you are using tissue paper to do the copying. I would prefer the author print additional pattern pieces so it doesnt make the process so difficult.
