This extraordinary seven-part book covers the processes of creating 13 projects -- from pencils to vases to bicycles -- for all personalities; skill levels and interests. It is specifically designed for students; beginning welders; hobbyists; and do-it-yourselfers. Many of the plans have been built multiple times by students and others. The plans are easy to read and the projects are meant to motivate the reader to want to learn the welding and fabrication processes. All plans include a list of materials; dimensions; special notes as needed.; plus any commentaries about special equipment that might be necessary to compete the projects.

My only major complaint is many of the songs featured are not "traditional" music for a mandolin and Id you dont know them they can be hard. I would have preferred only folk; Irish; country or classical music in the book. Not 19th and 20th century American tunes.39 of 41 people found the following review helpful. Very pleased!By Kathryn H.I ordered this for my 30 year old son for Christmas. He always wanted one since he was a child. He was extatic when he saw it. That was in 2013. He said it was "backwards" from the guitar but since he could play the guitar; he was able to teach himself to play the mandolin. He unexpectedly passed away March 2016. My husband has it now and said the something Eddie said; "its backwards" but he plays the guitar and is picking it up pretty fast. I highly recommend this product for beginners. Its a beautiful; well made instrument. I would order from this seller again. I know Im late writing a review but to be honest; weve been through a lot in the past 3 years and forgot until my husband asked me a few minutes ago if I ever wrote one. Attached is a photo of my son; Eddie; right after he opened it Christmas 2013.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. To Start PlayingBy LadyDAt first; it was odd to not learn the strings as I thought it should follow; however; as I followed the book; it made better sense. It is a really good beginners book - not only learning the mandolin but how to read music as well as the exercises. I will be using this book for a while as I learn to play the mandolin. Why did I give it only 4-stars? For me; 5-stars is reserved for absolute perfection and I do not have the expertise in the field.
