Description

Ignacio Pinazo Camarlench (1849 mdash; 1916) was a Spanish painter; and one of the most prominent artists of Valencia from the end of the nineteenth century; working in the Impressionist style. Ignazio Pinazo worked with dark colors: black; brown and other earth-like shades; as well as in the scintillating palette typical of Impressionism. His work often shows rapid brush strokes. Part of his work can be seen in the Basilica de la asuncioacute;n in the town of Cieza; and in the Valencia Museum of Fine Arts ldquo;San Pio Vrdquo;. The greatest collection of this painters work is to be seen in the Valencia Institute of Modern Art; with over one hundred paintings and six hundred drawings. The annual art exhibitions brought Pinazo silver medals in 1881 and 1885; and gold medals in 1887 and 1899. He also received a royal medal and in 1912 a street in Valencia was named after him.

What more do I need?By W. SmithFor any aspiring lyricist (in theater or in any other songwriting arena) this book is indispensable. Sondheims thoughts on clarity and his reasoning are crucial to any writer. The book is structured very well; with chapters organized by show and lengthy introductions to each shows set of lyrics. I particularly was intrigued by the introduction to the chapter on "The Frogs." The inclusion of first drafts of lyrics is especially useful; and the production photos and snippets of Sondheims handwritten drafts is a nice touch. A book that provides new information every time you read it. My only complaint is that its companion draft; Look; I Made a Hat: Collected Lyrics (1981-2011) with Attendant Comments; Amplifications; Dogmas; Harangues; Wafflings; Diversions and Anecdotes isnt here yet! For lyricists who are also composers; I highly recommend buying this book along with Sondheim on Music: Minor Details and Major Decisions. It would be hard to imagine a more complete look into the creative process of theater songwriting.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
