These arrangements are fantastic; and the CD is really helpful in learning the timing; although its pretty fast to play along with.. I liked the guitar book so much I bought the mandolin book from the series as well.Im pleased with it also. Really; I have not found another guitar flatpicking book that comes close to this one for great arrangements of terrific songs. It is not a method (how-to) book; but for songs you will not find a better book. All songs are presented in both TABs and musical notation and are grouped by the key. It gives me a lot of tunes to work on. It makes for a good practice routine in learning my way around the fretboard. Would recommend it to others. The accompanying cd gives you an idea of the tune played properly. It helps enormously in getting up to pace once youve mastered the fingering. Standard tunes; Outstanding arrangements!By sprintIf you want to know good solid versions of some bluegrass standards -this is the book to get! Bob Grant does an excellent job of providing creative embellishments ornaments that you can use in other tunes while not losing sight of how the basic tune should sound. One of my favorite songbooks (and I have a ton). Hey Bob- how about putting together volumes 2 3 for both guitar mandolin?
