The theme of the book is simply stated "be yourself. unapologetically. always". Kesha details her upbringing. emphasizing her drive and dedication to succeed in the music business. Here is what makes Kesha different from you and me: she dropped out of high school after being accepted to Ivy League colleges to chase her dream of being a successful songwriter and performer. Ask yourself. would you have the guts to do this?Musical from birth. Kesha developed her "dance pop/rock n roll" image over a few years and set out to produce dance pop presented in a rock and roll. party-hardy style that you could both dance and bang your head to. She knows exactly who she is and what her place in the music world is and apologizes for absolutely nothing.She clearly states throughout the book that it is extremely important to her that her career continue. that she expand upon the successes of her first album "Animal". and that she continue to tell her fans its ok for them to be different and themselves.Rock can always use someone who is unique and loves a big beat. and the message that individuality is ok can never be stated enough. The text in the book can be read in an hour or two but is sufficient to give you a clear image of who Kesha is in 2012: a creative songwriter and musician who is having a blast and wants us all to loosen up and have a little more fun too.My Crazy Beautiful Life1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. And I will definitely read it again. in an indeterminate amount of time in the future.That said. there were a few downsides.First. the technical: as an eBook. device support is limited. It requires a device with a color screen. This makes sense. as the book contains a ton of photos. and would not be a worthwhile experience on a BW eInk display. Unfortunately auto-rotate and pinch-zoom. which work on 99% of all other eBooks on my iPad in the kindle app. do not work.And now the books story: on the whole. I think Ke$ha achieved what she set out to do - sharing her crazy life and her obvious passion for it all. with her fans. However. I did feel the book was too short. The volume of photos feels like it is masking not enough writing.This might be an unfair evaluation on my part - after all I still feel the authors *main* goal was achieved - but I feel this could have been so much more if more detail and self reflection was written into it. I was reading it expecting what I do from my favorite autobiographies. which cover what feels relevant. with great insight and self-reflection. The author gives their unique experience and perspective "life. the universe. and everything". based what they have done and how it has affected them.And this is where I felt this autobiography fell a little short. Plenty of factual detail. and a reasonable level of insight and self reflection. But in the end I feel like it was a thoroughly enjoyable Wikipedia article with *lots* of photos. sourced entirely from primary material. but lacking the depth I hoped for.I still maintain it was a worthwhile purchase. but I had expected a bit more.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Interesting and Fun Insight Into Ke$ha!By MichaelIm a huge Ke$ha fan and I waited for this book to come out months in advance. Overall. its a nice. quick read. and offers a deeper look into the life of Kesha Sebert. Its more of a photo album with some text and personal musings. starting from her growing up to the writing and making of her sophomore album "Warrior". She talks about her family and her friends on the road. her experiences while touring. and working with various producers and managers. Its a little hard to tell how authentic the memoir is (did she really get into Ivy League schools?) but overall the message is loud and clear--Ke$ha is not afraid to be herself. and despite having people who think shes dumb or stupid. she is out to rule the world (or at least the airwaves).
