So many other books give you the runaround and dont give you the material that you really need. In this book; Alex Webster covers not only the basics but everything you need to play any style of metal. After mastering this book; you will be proficient enough to play metal bass; great book; highly recommend.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Excellent Resource for Intermediate Bass PlayersBy CRG2This is an excellent resource for intermediate bass players who have already mastered the basics. Im an amateur; mostly self-taught bass player who has been playing for several years. I got stuck; however; in a very boring rut doing the same things over and over again. Finally I decided to try to up my game and push myself to develop further as a player. Extreme metal is a significant challenge because it is one of the most demanding styles out there; and Alex Webster is one of the undisputed masters. He takes his craft very seriously and hes created this wonderful teaching tool for bass players. The book is written in a very straightforward and unpretentious manner and includes a digital download of over 30 tracks you can learn to play along with. I wouldnt recommend this book for beginners; because it may seem a bit too daunting if you havent got the fundamentals down already. But its perfect for intermediate or even advanced players who want to take their playing to a higher skill level.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Good information. I kind of wish there were some videos to go along with it as unless you have been playing for awhile you might be confused about some of the tapping instructions.
