A trivia collection missing the most important bit of trivia.By Abhimanyu SinghIt looked like writing a book about the making of Don just for the heck of it. Though it had lot of trivial (some interesting) details on how various parts of the film came along; the emphasis on some of the key elements seem to be missing. I wanted to read in detail about how the legendary background score of Don was composed and why it was not a part of the audio soundtrack release on HMV; since Sholay had its title music on its LP records so it was nothing new to include background music in the OST. Its a glaring miss considering the target audience of this book; unlike the reader for Making of Sholay; is a Don fan (everyone is a Sholay fan). And if theres one thing that binds him to this film to date; it is that thrilling composition by Kalyanji-Anandji.
