The smile on her face when I download one is pure joy and oh how that makes my heart sing. These books have sparked her interest in a plethora of content. Im finally free of playing dolls and now all she wants to do is read to me. The wording is perfect for her and it also gives a bit of lesson because some things we do have to look up - after of course perfecting how to pronounce it; Cumulonimbus wow! But she is a trooper and is only fueled to learn more things from these stunning books. The only drawback would be that she wants more and more and mommy never gets to read to her anymore! =) Putting me aside; this why does it happen series is great; I feel her enthusiasm when she reads to me; even if she stumbles on a word. She is becoming so much more independent in trying to figure out things as before she wanted my or some elses help. I love how adorable she is when she is telling me all about it and showing me the pictures; that she must discuss in detail and sometimes go back to prior to completing the book.We received this item at a deep discount and or free in return for our truthful review. I was wanting more of the "Why" to be answered for kids...By ElizabethBaby Professor has about 200 books in this ebook series that are offered in the kindle store for either free or for .99cent;. You cant really go wrong with the books offered for free. There is a variety of subjects covered and most of the books follow about the same format. You can take a peek inside the books by clicking "Look Inside" and this is pretty much what you get in each book.I gave this ebook only 3 stars because it just seemed lacking in the title of the book. Why does it happen? They only give very basic information and could easily go into greater detain about the why of tornados and hurricane/typhoons. Overall; I do like the photos but many seem photo shopped. And it would be nice if the books went into more detail but they are very basic books that I hope will get my kids interested in finding more about each subject.I plan on keeping these books on my iPad for down time for my kids when they get bored waiting different places like the doctors office or practice for a sibling. Excellent book!!!By Crystal HipsmanTornadoes; typhoons and hurricanes are weather disturbances that your child may be familiar with based on experience. But does your child know the science behind these events? With this picture book; he/she will! Picture books are informative materials that are shouting to be picked up and read. The illustrations are attention-grabbing and the carefully written quick facts break complex concepts into simpler forms. These books are really short... Like 18 pages short. That is my only complaint. When we were done reading it my son just kind of looked at me like "thats it?" haha. It is a very basic book. The vocabulary is kind of big but it has really great explanations for the words. It might actually be geared more toward the Kindergarten audience. Which actually worked out great for me!The pictures are really great. Some are very simple and others are quite detailed. My son enjoyed looking at them and asking questions and pointing out little things in each one. We are very big fans of ebooks. Just know that this book wouldnt be very good on the paperwhite (black and white version) because this book is in color and it just wouldnt look that great. We have used it on the ipad and the computer and it looks great. I love that I can load a bunch of these types of books up onto my ipad for trips and he has the ability to flip through tons of books without the huge bag of books! Having a big variety of books on hand at all times; especially education books like this are always a plus. I highly recommend you get a wide variety of the books to keep you children entertained! This book is fairly short and that works well for younger children with a short attention span. I would say this book is best for the 6-8 year old range. As with all the Baby Professor series the pictures are stunning. Adults and children alike will enjoy learning new facts. Even as an adult I enjoyed the book and wish it was longer.It is a great little book that is delivered in bite size pieces for young children to understand and enjoy. Each page features a fact and a pertinent picture. These are a great starting point for a deeper conversation that you can tailor to their age and curiosity. I recommend reading the Kindle version on a computer or color tablet to get the full effect of the color pictures.I received the opportunity to review many of the Baby Professor books and I highly recommend them.
