This popular book by N. T. Wright offers thirteen powerful meditations and sermons that challenge readers to assess anew the meaning of Jesus death and resurrection and the life of the Spirit in Jesus followers today. In Part One; "The Crown of Thorns;" Wright considers not the customary seven last words that Jesus spoke from the cross but; rather; seven words that various people spoke to Jesus on the cross -- people like Mary and the Roman centurion; who witnessed the crucifixion; and Pontius Pilate; who helped to instigate it. Part Two; "The Fire of Love;" contains five sermons and one biblical exposition on such themes as the new creation; the call of God; and the nature of Christs presence in the Eucharist.

Roots of SteelBy RainSeekerI ordered this book because my great-grandparents managed to build their family and thrive in Struthers back in the mid late 1800s.Many remained in the area until the early 1950s. The story of Struthers is totally combined with the industrial growth of America.I enjoyed all that I read but I wanted more....more....more. However; I certainly thank Patricia Beach the Struthers Historical Society for their efforts.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. facinating account of the history of StruthersBy M. smithThis book was a gift for my husbands cousin in Oregon who had been raised in Struthers; Ohio; left for college and made his life in the Northwest nearly 50 years ago. He was glad to receive the book and relive his youth through the stories and photos. It is well written and documented. The photos are a look back into a life that helped build the livehood of an industry and the immigrants who contributed.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
