Every other page drops new knowledge and I love the numerous references to the Teacha; KRS One; Hip Hops true Philosopher. These guys know their Hip Hop History and purpose; and have a great understanding of the Kulture and how it can be compared to a Socratic-like philosophy. The foreword by Dr. Cornell West is tight as well. This is real Hip Hop literary commentary and examines the Hip Hop life; which to me; IS worth living! Excellent job; highly recommend. Peace! Two Thumbs Up!By Nolan Harris JrThis volume is very engaging and is best at explaining rather dense philosophical ideas through the lens of Hip-Hop. I was very impressed and would really like to see an updated edition--a Volume 2; as it were. I especially enjoyed the exegesis of Hegel and Sartre in the the pieces by Pittman and Gines respectively. Definitely recommend!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
