When we meet a Canadian. we cant help but ask if they know "Stew from Saskatchewan." I try not to ask because I know its a stupid thing to say. but now I read this book and I think if I meet any Canadian musician I can ask if they know Dave from Toronto and dances are they will say yes. There are interviews from classic Canadian musicians from three or four decades intertwined with Bidinis own recollection of traveling across Canada. Its a fun book and well worth the ride.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great read for a night of any seasonBy You are going WHERE?Bidini takes you where you think you want to go. makes you feel comfortable with it all. and then drops you off at home after the show. He put a lot of work and love into this project. it deserves a good read by you. just like a good tune deserves radio play. The Ken Tobias interludes are. alone. worth the price of admission and youll find a lot of the other kinds of admissions. too. Its the mu$ic biz but without the $. its Canadian music like youve never heard it told. not sung. before.Take a bow. Dave. and I am shouting for an encore.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. In a word. Canadiana.By Adam CoeBidini has a unique perspective on that time in that place in Canada. I actually saw them on the tour with the Hip that he talks about in the book. and it was a really interesting read to hear it from someone who participated in it. Ive read it several times now and still very much enjoy it. Get this book.
