[ebooks] One-Man Guitar Jam: How to Use Riffs; Bass Lines; and Rhythm Patterns for Self-Accompaniment While Soloing by Troy Nelson at Arts-Photography

Description

In 1500 CE; the Inca empire covered most of South Americas Andean region. The empires leaders first met Europeans on November 15; 1532; when a large Inca army confronted Francisco Pizarros band of adventurers in the highland Andean valley of Cajamarca; Peru. At few other times in its history would the Inca royal leadership so aggressively showcase its moral authority and political power. Glittering and truculent; what Europeans witnessed at Inca Cajamarca compels revised understandings of pre-contact Inca visual art; spatial practice; and bodily expression. This book takes a fresh look at the encounter at Cajamarca; using the episode to offer a new; art-historical interpretation of pre-contact Inca culture and power. Adam Herrings study offers close readings of Inca and Andean art in a variety of media: architecture and landscape; geoglyphs; sculpture; textiles; ceramics; featherwork; and metalwork. The volume is richly illustrated with over sixty color images.

Not only does the book have the actual translation of this 900 year old classic work about gardening; but it is also a look into the aesthetic philosophy of garden beauty. The authors commentary goes into nature; geomancy and taboos and other matters about the classic work. The book has index; glossary and ample footnotes. A quote to make you chuckle states; "When a stone from the mountains or riverbeds is set in the manner of deities; it will become a demon stone; there are many cases throughout the country of trouble stemming from doing this". I will treasure this book forever.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
