OpenGL 4.0 Shading Language Cookbook

[DOC] OpenGL 4.0 Shading Language Cookbook by David Wolff at Arts-Photography

Description

One of our most brilliantly iconoclastic playwrights takes on the art of profession of acting with these words: invent nothing; deny nothing; speak up; stand up; stay out of school. Acting schools; ldquo;interpretation;rdquo; ldquo;sense memory;rdquo; ldquo; The Methodrdquo;mdash;David Mamet takes a jackhammer to the idols of contemporary acting; while revealing the true heroism and nobility of the craft. He shows actors how to undertake auditions and rehearsals; deal with agents and directors; engage audiences; and stay faithful to the script; while rejecting the temptations that seduce so many of their colleagues. Bracing in its clarity; exhilarating in its common sense; True and False is as shocking as it is practical; as witty as it is instructive; and as irreverent as it is inspiring.

The use of GLM. which is in C++. then requires a bunch of wrapper code. The book itself is relatively clear but the code accompanying the book has no comments and single character variables. It is pretty bad as a source of explanation and is simply bad code because it cant be maintained. The code needs to be updated with comments. The use of Qt makes it tedious to build the example code.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Super Awesome and Really Great ValueBy JamesBedfordReally awesome book and incredibly good value. Makes a change to a lot of the really long OpenGL books because you can find the OpenGL nugget youre interested in learning about or using and read the section on that.My only problem with this book is that the formatting for the Table of Contents could be a LOT better for the Kindle version. Whilst all the hyperlinks will take you directly to wherever you need to go. because this book has a set format for each chapter. the sub-sections for each chapter are repeated over and over again which makes it hard to see what the actual chapter is about. For example.Title1ABC2ABC3ABCIts hard to see the numbers for all the letters!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Good but too shortBy MishaThe book offers an effective take on OpenGL 4.0 and got me started. but the book stands up poorly against the resources available for free online. On the other hand. as a piece of technical literature. $40 bucks is less than I make in a hour so I would definitely buy it.
