Good topic; lazy editingBy Jakke Naulapauml;auml; The editors of this book have found a good niche: the interface between science and aesthetics is indeed riding on the crest of a ever more popular inter-disciplinary wave. This is; however; a showcase of how difficult it is to edit an inter-disciplinary book. The overall structure is too fragmented and sometimes you even get the feeling that some authors have copy-pasted their standard article with a few extra sublime-words thrown in. In order for this kind of book to be able to say something relevant about its subject matter the editing should be more ambitious; labour-intensive and professional.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Excellent break into the sublimeBy MichaelI chose this book in hopes that it would expand on the idea of the sublime but it actually offer something different and provide many readings to look into. this book isnt so much about going in depth but more of a survey of the schools of thought on the sublime. a good read if you found Burke and Kant a bit too esoteric. this will provide some context to go back into them later.4 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Amazing with the SublimeBy PilarInteresting book in which experts from art and science; based on the "Sublime" kantian concept; discussed this topic in an interdisciplinary way.
