There are beautiful pictures of bits and pieces of gorgeous gardens. but nothing that shows the full garden. No layouts. no design information. no plant selections to speak of. Just a closeup of a flower bed here. one angle of a garden room there. the wall of a house over here... The book is almost too aggravating to read. The text spends more time talking about the garden owners and the Conservancy than it does about the garden itself. and you certainly have no real sense of each garden after reading the book. I looked up online some of the gardens Id liked best because I couldnt tell what they were actually like.
