That said; this book is so badly written - and unedited - that it was painful to read. Structurally; the book was all over the place - bouncing from topic to topic; era to era; guest to guest; owner to owner; and back again. It was a challenge to make meaning from the garbled sentences and paragraphs. If I hadnt been so interested in the subject matter; I would have just tossed the book in the recycling bin (which is what Im planning to do with it; now that Im done. While I keep most books for my library; this one is unworthy). Even more difficult was wading through all the typos; sentence fragments; and misspellings. The book certainly doesnt live up to the high standards of quality one would expect of anything associated with The Plaza hotel. I can only conclude that this books editor was asleep at the wheel; or nonexistent.
