James Neufeld writes with insight and shares his fantastic knowledge about one of the best ballet companies in the world. He tells us the story of the people. the company. the art of dance. As a dance historian I find it always very interesting to deepen my knowledge about a dancer. a company and James Neufeld is a passionate ballet man and a real connoisseur. This book completes all the books I already have about NBC. After having seen Nureyevs SLeeping Beauty for NBC in the early 70ies with Karen Kain emerging as a wonderful ballerina. it is a real pleasure to see her direct the company with such knowledge and success. Everything You Need To Know About The NBC!By Christine RoweI barely remember seeing the National Ballet Of Canada many years ago in my hometown in Indiana. but it was the catalyst for my love of ballet (watching. not performing!). Later. I saw a film with one of the dancers. Ann Ditchburn. so Ive always been interested in the NBC. This book certainly has every bit of information that there is to know so I enjoyed it very much. Still. I would love to know whatever happened to Ann Ditchburn. Ive searched the Internet and can find nothing even remotely recent about her and what she might be doing. She seems to have left the world of dance far behind. which is too bad as far as Im concerned!
