What little-known son of a famous genius has been called:"A musical blight""A one-man plague""Historys most justifiably neglected composer""The worst musician ever to trod organ pedals" "A pimple on the face of music"In this long-awaited hoax; possibly the most unimportant piece of scholarship in over two thousand years; Professor Peter Schickele has finally succeeded in ripping the veil of obscurity from the most unusual -- to put it kindly -- composer in the history of music: P.D.Q. Bach; the last and unquestionably the least of the great Johann Sebastian Bachs many children. From the Trade Paperback edition.

Fascinating book about the slow decline of the Outer Banks fishing industry and its families.By CoastalCreatureThis book will appeal to anyone who has an interest in and appreciation of the North Carolina coastal plain; and the people and boats that live and work there. As the towns of Morehead city and Beaufort have grown; the area just to the north of them has remained remarkably isolated. This book documents the slow demise of that civilization as it has existed for over 100 years. The photographs are very nice; but the interweaving of text about the history of the places together with quotations from the people who live there is particularly poignant. Last; the documentation of the closure of the specific fish houses and the demise of various specific votes by name; is sad but appropriate. We have a place in Beaufort. After downloading the book and reading it on my Kindle; I bought a hard copy to keep on our coffee table so that guests can enjoy it.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
