Better than the Contemporary Asian series from TuttleBy A. hoqueAfter amassing a collection of these books from Tuttle and Singapore publishers on contemporary Asian architecture and design; I saw this book in KL at the Suria book store. Among all the other books there on the architectural components of modern Asian design; this book stood out -- similar to the Contemporary Dream Houses in Malaysia/Singapore series. The author -- an architect -- really goes into the architectural themes and lineage of the homes; allowing for surveyors to get an idea of how the home was designed and formulated; especially when looking at the small parcels of land they occupy. If looking for an interior design cover; this probably isnt the best book. However; if youre looking for the names of architects who are doing the most cutting edge work in modern Asian architecture and design; this book lists them out and their seminal designs.Happy house designing!
