Pittsburgh's Point Breeze (Images of America)

[audiobook] Pittsburgh's Point Breeze (Images of America) by Sarah L. Law at Arts-Photography

Description

The Pedestrian and the City provides an overview and insight into the development; politics and policies on walking and pedestrians: it includes the evolution of pedestrian-friendly housing estates in the 19th century up to the present day. Key issues addressed include the struggle of pedestrianization in town centers; the attempts to create independent pedestrian footpaths and the popularity of traffic calming as a powerful policy for reducing pedestrian accidents.Hass-Klau also covers the wider aspects of urban and transport planning; especially public transport; essential for promoting a pedestrian-friendly environment. The book includes pedestrian-friendly policies and guidelines from a number of European countries and includes case studies from the UK; Germany; Britain; France; Spain; Italy; the Netherlands; Denmark; the US and Canada; with further examples from ten additional countries. It also contains a unique collection of original photographs; including lsquo;beforersquo; and lsquo;afterrsquo; photos of newly introduced pedestrian-friendly transport policies. As the pedestrian environment has become ever more crucial for the future of our cities; the book will be invaluable to students and practicing planners; geographers; transport engineers and local government officers.

Cindy Berry; piano arranger extraordinareBy melkentsI know this review is late appearing on ...but it isa busy; or hectic time of the year!My wife; bless her heart is the main musician in the extendedfamily I happen to have married into. Just about everyoneplays something or another. Out of 2 brothers and 2 sisters.only one is not a pianist. [The brothers are "technicians";the sisters just play.]Therefore we are all a bunch of Musos. Due to the accumulatedyears of serving music; I would recommend ANY of Cindy Berrysarrangements. The What can I play on Sunday series; or the spinoffs from that series; All available on . [Six booksspanning a year...one book per two months.]I dont think I have ever rated 5 stars before...but thesearrangements are rather special. I hope this review will helpall Musos out there in this world. Go Buy...terrific stuff!!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Another WONDERFUL Cindy Berry collectionBy keikismomI think I have almost all of the arrangements that Cindy Berry has published in this piano collection. I cant decide between her two books of Christmas arrangements which one I like best; so I am glad I bought them both! Very playable and different from other arrangements you may have played. Very classy and difficult sounding; but not too hard to play. If you are an accomplished pianist; they are almost sight readable - I needed to just practice a few measures in each piece before I could perform them.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. beautiful arrangements for developing pianist with intermediate to late intermediate ...By Grammie of 6Same review as for Book 2 - original; beautiful arrangements for developing pianist with intermediate to late intermediate ability.
