Description

The writer of such influential songs as ldquo;Pancho and Lefty;rdquo; ldquo; To Liversquo;s to Fly;rdquo; ldquo; If I Needed You;rdquo; and ldquo; For the Sake of the Song;rdquo; Townes Van Zandt exerted an influence on at least two generations of Texas musicians that belies his relatively brief; deeply troubled life. Indeed; Van Zandt has influenced millions worldwide in the years since his death; and his impact is growing rapidly. Review
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. More that the title suggestsBy Travis L WilliamsThis book really is instrumental in setting a groundwork and theoretical foundation for understanding memory and place. Particularly Michael Bowmans essay in this book along with the introduction by Dickinson. Ott. and Blair are the strongest of the bunch however the book is well worth the price. If you are purchasing this for a class. know the reading is accessible. and pay special attention to the introduction and observe their seamless writing style and outstanding organization of complex topics. I actually spoke with Dr. Blair last night and in her estimation much more scholarship can come out of writing about and studying places of public memory.
