My 3 year oldknows more about dinosaurs than was in this book. She kept telling me what they ate. I think using theherbivore and carnivore names it would have been better to say that they ate vegetation or meat whichmore people understand. My children understand the metric system; but I do not think most small onesdo. I thought this was a badly written; badly photographed book with very little information that was at allhelpful. My 8 year old obediently looked at it and shook his head. He is reading at a much higher level.He said it was a book for babies and did not have one word in it that was worth printing. Harsh wordsfrom a dinosaur lover! Needless to say the two older ones declined to look at it since their brother thedinosaur lover said it was trash. The pictures are really bad and not that accurate. You can see muchbetter pictures online or in other books of which there are many in my house! This book seemed to havebeen written by a non native English speaker due to some of the ways things were said. There is nothingwrong with that; but people need to be more careful in translating. A lot can be lost in translation as mayhave happened here. As like a lot of Speedy Publishings books; this one is very short in length and ondetails which might have made the book better. Fun book about a few dinosaursBy Brad and April McKinleyThis is a decent book with fun facts about different types of dinosaurs. Theres about a paragraph synopsis of each animal followed by images. The pictures are decent in my opinion. The information is factual which is nice for conceptual knowledge. Overall; as much as I wish there were more types of dinosaurs explained I did like what I read. I received this product for free or at a discounted rate in exchange for product testing and review. I got this book for my daughter who is going into the second grade in a couple of months. She has always been fascinated by dinosaurs or anything related to science. She truly enjoys reading and has been tested at a 5th grade reading level. She had no trouble reading this book either. She said that she really liked the book. I asked her why and she said that she learned a lot by reading this book. Even though she already knew a great deal about dinosaurs. She also said that the illustrations were really great. I skimmed through the book myself and I would have to agree that the pictures in the book are pretty good. I would recommend this to any child who has any interest and dinosaurs I think theyll learn something and have some fun in the process. I did receive this book for free or at a discount for a honest and unbiased review. I rely on other reviews to determine how Im going to spend my hard-earned money.
