A true American heroBy Kindle CustomerFinally I found a book that tells the story of a singer; song written that I truly have loved for the last 50years. His song writing is so real and each one tells a story and most if not all is part of his story. Hes not afraid to speak or should I say sing about his belief political beliefs as well as his strong dedication to challenging the establishment against racism;equality for all people as well as the environment. A no one;I mean no one can sing sexier than Kris and his voice is only getting better with time. And he can act to;what more could one ask for omg. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about this living legend; hes not your average singer;actor.Hes a Wild American for sure.NAMASTE to Stephen Miller for giving us a inside of Kris.5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Not a bad book but a tough one to recommend...By L. BurnsWith no cooperation from Kris; his family; friends or colleagues the author appears to rely almost solely on previously published material to make up the bulk of this book. (If youve read or watched any interviews with Kris over the years youll be familiar with many of the quotes and stories referenced in the book). Laid out like a well organized term paper it chronicles Kriss early years; education; military service and decades-long career in music and movies. The main focus of the book is Kriss career; the highlites of his personal life (marriages; children; etc) are mentioned but not explored in depth. The author gives even-handed reviews of the majority of Kriss albums and several of his better known films. The end of the book contains a very good discography and filmography.Disappointingly; theres nothing new here. It is not a poorly written book but I wouldnt say you gain any insight in to this enigmatic performers personality. It is hard to reduce such a larger-than-life and complex individual to a few dry facts and stale anecdotes. Im not sure you can really write an engrossing biography without the cooperation of the subject or at the very least access to those close to him. Now; if the long-awaited autobiography were to be published...that would be a different story!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I truly hope he is at peace with himself and is comfortable in his own skinBy BJBEven though Kris is one of my favorites; I see that he was a lot wilder than I thought. With his talent and personality; I truly hope he is at peace with himself and is comfortable in his own skin.
