Gyricon is a unique and novel artist publication created by Adam Fearon specifically with an eink reader and .mobi file format in mind. Gyricon means lsquo;turning lightrsquo; in Greek and is the name first given to a prototype of eInk technology developed by Nicholas Sheridon at Xeroxrsquo;s Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) during the 1970s. Across several distinct sections the work explores Fearons on-going interest in surface; representation and the use and reuse of works of art in a formally curious investigation of einks potentials. The work was premiered at the New York Art Book Fair in September 2015 and is BDPs first and quite probably only book created with the Kindle in mind; in line with the format specific nature of the artists interest.
