It is a superb appreciation of beauty in the movement of strokes and in the patterns of structure--and an inspiration to amateurs as well as professionals interested in the decorative arts.

Shame on me.Ive given this book as a gift and kept one for myself as a coffee table book. Flipping through the pages is like taking a tour of Louisiana (and beyond). Its simply amazing to discover that all these familiar residences; churches; arenas and commercial buildings were designed by the same man. Im not an architect; so I dont know if it would be blasphemous or insulting to either man to compare Davis to Frank Lloyd Wright. I just know a good building when I see one.... and here are many.Like the reviewer before me; I am in awe of the prolific work of this modern-day master; and fascinated with the historic and geo-political background involved in bringing his creations to fruition. It is fascinating to understand the history behind the buildings; not just in how they were constructed; but the events in history that surrounded and contributed to his design. A great book to read and have in a collection. I was truly in awe.
