[ePub] Psychobook: Games; Tests; Questionnaires; Histories by From Princeton Architectural Press at Arts-Photography

Description

In 1932; a black man was found hanging on Rattlesnake Mountain in Fauquier County. A mob set fire to his body. Officials identified the remains as Shedrick Thompson; wanted for the abduction and rape of a local white woman. Some claimed Thompson killed himself--the final act of a desperate fugitive. But residents knew better; calling the tragedy a lynching--the last one known in Virginia. Author Jim Hall takes an in-depth look at the events to expose a complex and disturbing chapter in Virginia history.

Fun book to keep aroundBy Bradley BeversIm a sucker for popular psychology books. but this one is a lot of fun to read and I havent come across anything else like it. Its an eclectic mix of psychology tests. information. and history. The book starts by detailing a number of tests that arent in use anymore. Fascinating to see how far we have come so fast with the field of psychology being so new. One of the tests they describe and have pictures of is a portrait test where you choose the picture that stands out most. The choices are a mix of troubled people with diagnosed illnesses. and the one you choose on each card (choice of 6) is supposed to tell the psychologist what you might be diagnosed with as well. There are also a number of real tests that you can take yourself. all simplified into one or two pages. and some new tests that were developed just for this book. Its really a coffee table book more than anything else. but an interesting one. Very well done. interesting look into psychology tests.7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. My only complaint is that no one around me is as nerdy as I am. so nobody appreciates just how incredible this book is.
