This would be an excellent guide for a student wishing to learn independently.However; BEWARE; the Patterns and hats given are simply a theatrical interpretation from period paintings and not supported by actual extant hats; nor are they constructed in a period method; shape; or similar pattern pieces. If you are looking to reproduce a period hat; this is not the book for you.
