The format for this is a little different than most of the Baby Professor books in this series which usually have a picture with a paragraph and facts on one page. Then the next page is just a photo. This book has a picture and description of the picture on most of the pages so you get more the information than most of their books. Keep in mind though; this Baby Professor book is short like most of them. It would also be nice if these books went into more detail. This book is very similar to another book Baby Professor offers as well; Volcanoes Earthquakes; What Why? : 2nd Grade Science Series: Second Grade Books (Childrens Earthquake Volcano Books). That book has even less information. You can check them both out if you can snag the while they are still free. There are about 200 books in this ebook series that are offered in the kindle store for either free or for .99cent;. You cant really go wrong with the books offered for free. There is a variety of subjects covered and most of the books follow about the same format. You can take a peek inside the books by clicking "Look Inside" and this is pretty much what you get in each book.Overall; I do like theses books for their wonderful pictures. It would be nice if the books went into more detail but they are very basic books that I hope will get my kids interested in finding more about each subject.I plan on keeping these books on my iPad for down time for my kids when they get bored waiting different places like the doctors office or practice for a sibling. I sometimes watch a friends 3 year old daughter and she likes to look through the pictures on my phone. I plan on showing her these books to keep her entertained. I think she will love them.***** I received this ebook for free in exchange for my honest review. *****0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. This is an excellent ebook for kidsBy rkreviewerThis is an excellent ebook for kids! As a teacher of elementary students; I would love to incorporate this ebook into a small group activity where I present a main idea or topic to the whole class and then they break up in small groups and discover more material on their own. My mind was continuously racing as I read through this book thinking of different projects I could make on this topic. It is the perfect age group to let them use a kindle to explore and what a better way to do so than with this ebook! I will totally let other teachers know of this opportunity and will keep this seller in mind with other ebooks available. I received this product free for reviewing purposes; however my opinions are all my own.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Really great book to read to your grandchildren or your children fantastic!By kellyI love this book. I found out more things about earthquakes and volcanoes then I thought I knew. For one; I did not know that earthquakes and volcanoes were related and that was a great surprise to me. Another thing that surprised me. There were approximately 500;000 detectable earthquakes in the world each year 100000 of those can be felt; and 100 of them can cause damage. I did know that the ones that and see that were called well known as tsunamis if they were powerful enough. This book also reflected on the volcanoes and what they could form as far as mountains from there lava and ash and how they formed. This book also mentioned that would no volcanoes eruption and the lava was spewing the steam from the lava strong gases and various acids were released.I found it interesting that a volcano erupting could cause flash floods; mudslides; rockfalls; earthquakes and tsunamis. This book has gorgeous pictures that you could see and reflect on how an earthquake and volcano can react.I received this book for free or a deep discount in exchange for my honest opinion in form of a review and that is what I provided my opinion has not finish lunch by outside sources in any matter my opinions; thoughts; and experiences are bad on my own.
