Here lies she whom her husbands kindness killeddagger;? This is the epitaph; in golden letters; Master John Frankford proposes for the tomb of his wife; Anne; who has just starved herself to death. Frankford congratulates himself on the clever means by which he has brought his wife to repentance-and got rid of her. The marriage is comfortable; if uneventful; until Frankford gives his friend Wendoll the free use of his table and purse. When Wendoll takes even more than was offered; and confesses his desperate love to Anne; a complex and tragic drama ensues. Praised as Heywoods best play and as the best domestic tragedy;dagger;? A Woman Killed with Kindness (1603) requires us to consider who and what the household includes and on what conditions. What are the limits of hospitality? What are the relationships between friendship and marriage; intimacy and possession? This student edition contains a fully annotated version of the playtext in modern spelling. The Introduction includes a detailed discussion of the plays interpretation and stage history.

Especially good books for kids. This one falls short but still gets 4-Star (instead of 2 or 3) just because it is an OK starting point in discussing science with kids. With this quick and easy to read eBook though; I would have loved to see a little more effort put into it.1. It can put things in perspective by adding the Years those scientists lived.2. Also; it would have made more sense to order them chronologically. Put Aristotle 1st for example; not half way through the eBook.3. Some famous names are missing - specifically Einstein (Theory of Gravity); and Bohr/Heisenberg (Quantum Theory) - Those are 2 of the most phenomenal and incredible breakthroughs of the 20th Century. Where are they?4. How about Laonardo Da Vinci? oh; and quite a few other trail blazers in Science.4. How about the Discoverers of the Double-Helix? - Our DNA by Watson and Crick.5. Adding illustrations or relevant apparatus next to the scientists can help illuminate the mind too. A Telescope for Galileo etc.Lets hope the next iteration on the subject will deliver more; cover more branches of Science and show things chronologically.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. This book is a nice; simple introduction to scientists...grab it for free while you can....By ElizabethThis ebook if offered right now for free. The title tell pretty much exactly what it is; scientists and what they did. If you click "Look inside" on the main product page above the picture of the book; you can see the first few pages of the book. This is pretty much what you get. There is a picture of the scientist and a brief description of what he (or she) is famous for.The book could be better by simply including a picture of one (or more) of the inventions or research that the scientist is famous for. I like most of the Baby Professor ebooks but its little details like this that many are lacking. If you are in the market for similar ebooks; check out the Babby Professor ebooks. They are a little hit or miss but there are some on travel and animals and other subjects that kids love.I still give it 5 stars because its free and it is a good introduction to some famous scientists.***** I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review. *****1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. This is an excellent ebook for preschoolersBy rkreviewerThis is an excellent ebook for preschoolers! As a teacher of elementary students; I would love to incorporate this ebook into a small group activity where I present a main idea or topic to the whole class and then they break up in small groups and discover more material on their own. My mind was continuously racing as I read through this book thinking of different projects I could make on this topic. It is the perfect age group to let them use a kindle to explore and what a better way to do so than with this ebook! I will totally let other teachers know of this opportunity and will keep this seller in mind with other ebooks available. I received this product free for reviewing purposes; however my opinions are all my own.
