Love and marriage are the concerns of Shakespearersquo;s The Taming of the Shrew. Lucentiorsquo;s marriage to Bianca is prompted by his idealized love of an apparently ideal woman. Petruchiorsquo;s wooing of Katherine; however; is free of idealism. Petruchio takes money from Biancarsquo;s suitors to woo her; since Katherine must marry before her sister by her fatherrsquo;s decree; he also arranges the dowry with her father. Petruchio is then ready to marry Katherine; even against her will. Katherine; the shrew of the playrsquo;s title; certainly acts much changed. But have she and Petruchio learned to love each other? Or is the marriage based on terror and deception? Im more of a technical; how to; kind of guy. I needed this to balance out my perspective and Im glad I read it. Seeing old images from masters that had I taken them would be on my delete list does make me feel better. From what I see; it looks like those folks were nuts. The book itself is very good.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. The explanation about image does not match; p 111 ...By Kindle CustomerThe explanation about image does not match; p 111; the explanation in image 15;3 an equally chaotic seen is seen through the window of the moving train. But no train in image 15.3. Perhaps I think there is an error in editing book; choosing incorrect picture for explanation. I READ this p 111; and looked image 15.3; but I could not match the image and explanation. Please send me the correct picture for the explanation; if possible. I read this book excitingly; very usefully.
