Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Kunst - Uebergreifende Betrachtungen; Note: 1; Universitauml;t Wien (Kunstgeschichte); Veranstaltung: Ironie und Kunst um 1900 (zwischen Thorstein Veblen und Dada); Sprache: Deutsch; Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit entstand im Rahmen des Seminars bdquo;Ironie und Kunst um 1900ldquo; am Kunstgeschichtlichen Institut der Uni Wien und beschauml;ftigt sich mit der Thematik der Collage in der Kunststrouml;mung des Dadaismus. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird untersucht; wieso die Collage als kuuml;nstlerische Ausdrucksform im Dadaismus eine so vorherrschende Position einnahm und auf welche Faktoren dies zuruuml;ckzufuuml;hren ist. Hierbei stehen folgenden Fragestellungen im Mittelpunkt der Auseinandersetzung: Warum wurde die Collage zum leitenden Medium des Dadaismus? Wieso entschieden sich viele Dadaisten ausschlieszlig;lich mit der Collagen-Technik zu arbeiten und was bedeutete die Arbeit mit dieser Technik fuuml;r ihre Kunst? Wie korrespondieren die Beschaffenheit und die Eigenschaften des Mediums Collage mit der Idee des Dadaismus?Es wird in der Arbeit weniger auf einzelne Kuuml;nstler und ihre Werke eingegangen werden. Vielmehr soll eine theoretische Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema Collage im Dadaismus stattfinden; die sich auf die Eigenschaften und Mouml;glichkeiten des Mediums konzentriert und gesellschaftliche Vorraussetzungen; kuuml;nstlerische Forderungen und Geisteshaltungen thematisiert. Im vierten Kapitel wird auf einige dadaistische Kuuml;nstler und ihre jeweils spezifische Ausprauml;gung der Dada-Collage eingegangen. Es kann und es ist auch nicht das Ziel eine umfassende Darstellung dadaistischer Collagen zu bringen; sondern es kann nur ein Einblick in die unterschiedlichen und vielfauml;ltigen kuuml;nstlerischen Auseinandersetzungen gegeben werden. Genauso kann im Schlusskapitel nur versucht werden; einen Ausblick auf die Rezeption der Collage im 20. und 21. Jahrhundert zu geben.

A disappointmentBy MSI hate to harp on Wayne Howell. a longtime presence in the entertainment industry and the founder of Artistic Licence.But unfortunately. this book was a major disappointment. While I expected it to be outdated. with a publication date of 2004. the problems go far beyond that.As an experienced network administrator. I already know Ethernet well. So I was able to pick up on the many technical errors. omissions. and non-standard language used. I didnt make a list of issues. but if I had it would have been several pages long. A particularly glaring example I recall is when he discusses "Managed" versus "Unmanaged" networks. What he described is nothing even remotely close to how those terms are used in the IT networking world. Elsewhere. he talks briefly about Power over Ethernet. but never references how its commonly labeled or pronounced - PoE.Most shockingly. he manages to go through the entire "end user" section of the book without ever showing an IP address. nevermind explaining IP addressing. He has the book split into User. Installer. and Manufacturer sections. Other sections talk more about IP. but... really. installers and manufacturers should already know this stuff. end users are the ones that need to be taught about TCP/IP. (After reading the user section. I basically gave up on the book and only scanned the other two sections. so I cant say much for those parts).He also never shows an example of a MAC address (and possibly never even explains what it is. though he references it). Ethernet without MAC addresses dont exist.In fact. there are many things that are referenced to but never explained. There are however a number of sidebars that explain other facts and stories that. frankly. have no value. The weirdest was the one on baud rates. which simply doesnt apply to Ethernet.Technical content aside. the writing itself is painful to read. Its obvious a competent editor has never touched this. nor even a basic proofreader.For a far better explanation of both Ethernet and TCP/IP in the entertainment industry. I would suggest Show Networks and Control Systems: Formerly "Control Systems for Live Entertainment". by John Huntington. (Make sure to order the 2012 book. not older editions). The book is focused on show control. but talks a great deal about networks and properly explains TCP/IP and Ethernet. Unfortunately even that book only covers the basics. Im still looking for the book that really talks in depth about how networks are used in real shows.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I am really disappointed in the lack of useful content.This book is useless if you want concrete detail and understanding of Ethernet. Advise you to buy something else.This is not a book on the subject. rather its a cut and paste of free content into a pdf.Dont waste your money.
