They Say.....The Story Goes.......By Parker AndersonI hate to knock a book that contains a story about a haunted Pizza Hut; but I found this to be disappointing; considering the publishers usually excellent track record. It is certainly readable for the casual enthusiast; but for serious researchers; this does not deliver the goods. There is very little documentation for any of the stories; no eyewitness accounts; no substantiation for any of the tragic events that purportedly happened at these locations. Instead; the phrases "They say"; "Legend has it"; "The story goes"; and variations of these are used literally dozens of times in the text of this book. These phrases are always a red flag to serious historians; and almost always denote that the ensuing stories probably never happened.Too bad; this title comes across as leftovers from Dr. Browns other books......probably anecdotes he picked up along the way; and decided to get another book out of them. There is not necessarily anything wrong with this; but....... Bottom line; the book is a fun read on a dark night; but for serious researchers of ghost lore; it disappoints.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
