Rutherford: A Brief History

[ePub] Rutherford: A Brief History by William Neumann at Arts-Photography

Description

Today; Gatlinburg is an idyllic mountain resort. But the Sugarlands Valley in the 1910s couldnt have been more different. Martha Cole Whaley began her life on the outskirts of the city and has witnessed firsthand the joy and struggle of more than one hundred years in the area. Her rich experiences include what it was like to eat onion tops for an after-school snack; bathe in a washtub behind the stove and see a zipper for the first time on the boots of the mailman. Join author Marie Maddox as she captures an amazing century of Marthas life in Gatlinburg through stories; interviews and even a few of her favorite recipes from now and then.

Same old same old...By James WalleyThis looked good based on the specs; but I found a copy at a bricksnmortar store and had a chance to flip through it; and Im glad I did before laying out any money for it; because this "new markets" book is indistinguishable from any number of "old markets" (advertising; commercial; editorial; blah; blah; blah) books I already have on my shelves. I might be inclined to be more generous and give it three stars as a standard "how to sell your photos" book; but Im docking it a star for the disingenuous claim that it is revealing something new for 2010-era photo sales; instead of the same old same old that could have been published ten or twenty years ago.
