On the front cover of Lets Explore South America is the very famous National monument Mount Rushmore; located in South Dakota; USA. Thats in North America. Not South America. Pretty embarrassing when you are promoting an educational travel book to children and cant get the location correct. Luckily Baby Professor didnt cover Mount Rushmore as a spot in South America in the book; but that makes its spot on the cover more confusing. It doesnt stop there either. Theres only 7 places covered: Mount Picchu; Angel Falls; Christ the Redeemer; Lake Titicaca; Galapagos Islands; Easter Island; and Torres del Paine National Park. Thats it. If youre like me and are confused why Easter Island or the Galapagos were mentioned; I will explain. Apparently; those two islands are territories of Chile (Easter Island) and Ecuador (Galapagos). Therefore even though they are thousands of miles from the mainland; this book can claim it is part of South America.Instead of showcasing 14 places; Baby Professor put in another two-page wide photo of the showcased location instead. Do you really need another view of Christ the Redeemer? No.Heres 7 more attractions you can visit in South America that Baby Professor missed: Mano del Desierto; Casa Rosada; Plaza de Mayo; Boliacute;var Square; Porto de Galinhas; Atacama Desert and Salar de Uyuni. The language in this kids book is a bit advanced for most children. For example; the second sentence has the world biodiverse. There isnt a glossary in the back to help kids or parents out.Lets Explore South America is an absolute failure. I dont recommend it to anyone.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. 7 locations; 2-3 sentences about each.By Sugar MagnoliaFor free this ebook would be fine; but if you are paying for it there are a few things you should know. It only tells you about 7 locations in South America. And by "tells you about" I mean there is ONE sentence telling you what the location is and ONE sentence telling you a fact or two about it. We read 3 books in this series in a 5 minute wait in a waiting room. I dont feel enough information is given to pique a childs natural curiosity to ask for more information. The locations covered are Machu Picchu; Angel Falls; Christ the Redeemer; Lake Titicaca; the Galapagos Islands; Easter Island and Torres del Paine. The reason Im giving it 3 stars is the photos are spectacular. The information is not and better and more thorough information could be gleaned from a quick google search.I received this item at no cost for an unbiased review. A favorable review is never guaranteed. All opinions are solely based on my personal evaluation of this product.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Stunning ImagesBy CrystalRiderThis book ldquo;Lets Explore South America; is part of the series collection Baby Professor ndash; Childrenrsquo;s Explore the World Books published by Speedy Publishing. I have a 3rd grader; 1st grader and kindergartner. Every night we try to spend 20 minutes reading. I was given this book in exchange for my honest feedback. The kindle edition is great and easy to use. The baby professor books are great for everyday reading; for teachers or homeschooling. These are great quick reads that are visually stimulating as well as fun to read. These are meant to be reference tools not whole subject books. Each page features a fact and a picture. The illustrations in these books are simply stunning. My first grader was able to read most of the words on each page. I love that my kids are able to see and understand other parts of the world through these books.
