[ebooks] Sayville Orphan Heroes: The Cottages of St. Ann's by Jack Whitehouse at Arts-Photography

Description

Beneath the statehouse dome and from the banks of the Severn River; the ghosts of Annapolis rise to roam the red-bricked streets of the old city. The capital of Maryland since 1694; the city hosts the restless dead who never left the narrow alleys; taverns and homes where they met their ends. Come dine with Mary Reynolds at the tavern shes been keeping since the 1760s; stand vigil at the sarcophagus of Admiral John Paul Jones and search for the figure of Thomas Dance; who plummeted from the heights of the statehouse dome in 1793. From headless men and ghostly soldiers to unlucky bootleggers and ominous gravediggers; Annapolis Ghost Tour founder Mike Carter and tour guide Julia Dray narrate the eerie tales of these and other supernatural residents of Annapolis.

Review
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Awesome readBy ____ _____From what Ive heard; many biographies of Radiohead are a bit pointless; regardless of quality; because Radioheads career is still far from over; so these books are by no means getting the full story. This book is different in that it focuses on a period of Radioheads career; specifically the background of; creation of; content of; and aftermath of their 1997 classic "OK Computer". Although this book covers info as recent as "Hail to the Thief" in a chapter at the end about Radioheads post-"OK Computer" career; "OK Computer" is the story here. And what an excellent job it does. Theres a chapter detailing each song; the recording of the whole album; the sequencing of the album as a whole; the album artwork; the albums reception... The whole thing is extremely comprehensive and well-sourced. Highly recommended for fans.
