Since its original publication in 1978; Delirious New York has attained mythic status. Back in print in a newly designed edition; this influential cultural; architectural; and social history of New York is even more popular; selling out its first printing on publication. Rem Koolhaass celebration and analysis of New York depicts the city as a metaphor for the incredible variety of human behavior. At the end of the nineteenth century; population; information; and technology explosions made Manhattan a laboratory for the invention and testing of a metropolitan lifestyle -- "the culture of congestion" -- and its architecture."Manhattan;" he writes; "is the 20th centurys Rosetta Stone . . . occupied by architectural mutations (Central Park; the Skyscraper); utopian fragments (Rockefeller Center; the U.N. Building); and irrational phenomena (Radio City Music Hall)." Koolhaas interprets and reinterprets the dynamic relationship between architecture and culture in a number of telling episodes of New Yorks history; including the imposition of the Manhattan grid; the creation of Coney Island; and the development of the skyscraper. Delirious New York is also packed with intriguing and fun facts and illustrated with witty watercolors and quirky archival drawings; photographs; postcards; and maps. The spirit of this visionary investigation of Manhattan equals the energy of the city itself.

Its a limited preview of images that could be in the actual coloring book. You receive a digital kindle version that contains 13 pages of into/ads/index and then 14 pages of images. Although I do not know how youd go about actually coloring any of the 14 images included in the preview. There isnt a print button or option to download them. I suppose you could do a screen shot and trying to print that? There is the option to download other images which you can then print out and color. The thing is; after giving your name and email address; youre able to download images from 6 different books. It doesnt matter which book your preview is - the same 6 books are available no matter which book youve downloaded from this company. The "Look Inside" preview before you buy feature is useless. It does not show any actual images from the book which is a let down. I fail to understand the point of even including that feature with this items information since it provides no insight into the actual "coloring book". It will not show you what you are buying. The images are fun and playful. I enjoy the animals more than some of the others Ive found. Most of the designs look to be too intricate and detailed to be able to color in though. Its definitely for adults. I wouldnt recommend this one for children. Overall; its an okay "preview" of a "coloring book". Id still probably recommend just finding some free coloring pages online that you can print out. Seems like an easier and cheaper option to be honest.I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion. BUT it is MY opinion and I havent been paid by the seller to leave a particular review. I rely on product reviews when shopping on and appreciate when there are honest opinions to help make my decision. I try to give back to the community by providing a useful review myself. The opinions represented are always my own. Irsquo;m a real live person currently sitting on my couch typing this out. I do not leave a good review if I dont feel the product deserves it. A five star review was not promised or guaranteed prior to purchasing. What the stars in my review mean:5 stars - I absolutely adore the product and would buy it over and over again!4 stars - Product is good; has some minor issues; but I might buy it again if need be.3 stars - Product has issues but still works. Pretty pictures and cool designs.By Opinionated NerdetteI was drawn to this coloring book by the tiger on the cover. My daughter loves tigers (thank you Daniel Tigers Neighborhood). I was hoping to be able to color this tiger myself. However; this picture was not in the pages I got with this ebook preview. I cannot speak as to whether it is in the full paperback version. I did like some of the other animals and the designs in them. I liked the rhino; the bear; and the fox. A lot of these pictures are just the faces; but they are still fun to color. I was not able to download the images directly from the link that was given in the book. I full screened and print screened all of mine. The link sends you to a website that wants to sign up to be able to download the pictures. I didnt sign up. I dont like being pushed into registering for something just so I can use/download an item that I have already bought. I think this is a poor business practice. I am happy with the images in this coloring book; I just wish I could have downloaded them from the ebook itself.I received this Wildlife Mandala Coloring Book at a discount so I could give it my genuine; unbiased review. My mother first introduced these books to me when she had foot surgery and was stuck at home for 4 weeks with nothing to do. She bought the physical books and had a blast coloring them. It made the time seem to pass quicker and it was a stress reliever for her.The way I printed these out was go into the kindle app (works on computer or phone/tablet); took screenshots of each page; highlighted all screenshot thumbnails at once and opened these screenshots together in one window using preview on Mac. Once opened; I selected all screenshots on side column and clicked print to get the print window to show up. You can try to print these at this point but I didnt try so I dont know how it will turn out. What I did was; at the bottom of the print window; on the left; is a drop down box that says PDF. Click that box and scroll down to save as PDF. It will then ask you to name it and choose where you want it on your computer. After it has completed; find the PDF file on the computer and open that and I printed it from there. Came out beautifully!! This was done using a Mac so I am not sure that a Windows computer has that option. If this doesnt work; simply taking screen shots of the pages and printing those individually should do just as well. I love the patterns in this book. I dont see why others gave less than 5 stars for something free.Disclaimer: I was given the opportunity to buy this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I make sure that I personally test out and use every item I receive before writing any type of review. I was not influenced by the company in any way; I was not compensated for this review. I was not told what to write; how many stars to leave or anything along those lines. These are my own opinions. I will update or add to my comments if something should change in the future with this product so that it can remain my true and honest review. I understand how much help reviews are when deciding to or not to purchase an item and I take this very seriously and will only provide my own true unbiased feedback.
