WillisI was looking for ideas to incorporate into my lettering styles in sketchnotes and graphic facilitation. This book scores on both counts. plus its inspiring me to break out the Sharpies and tackle some fun new projects.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Buy sharpies instead of this disappointing bookBy B. AckleyI wish i had believed the bad reviews about this book. I had hoped to learn some new techniques using sharpies and how to get the best results on different mediums. Instead the author chooses to gives an overview of the history of sharpies all while repeating the statement "Sharpies are the number one selling permanent markers in the world." The bulk of the book is filled with lots of scribbles. doodles. pages promoting random artists and graphic designers with links to their work. and worthless info "You can use sharpies on shoes. skateboards..Anything!" The artwork shown is pretty basic with a few inspiring pieces but offers nothing in the way of real content.I can imagine the author and the publisher meeting and probably thought this was a cool idea for a book. Sadly. the execution of the idea never takes off. I Wish i had spent my $14 on more sharpies instead.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Good ideas but ultimately too shortBy R. ParthasarathyThis book is a super quick read. Lots of great illustrations with sharpie abound which is the reason for my 4 star rating. Some interesting ideas to get started on creative projects are also spread throughout the book. Not sure if it is a keeper but a quick one time read for sure.
