Pierre-Paul Prudhon (1758 ndash; 1823) was a French Romantic painter and draughtsman best known for his allegorical paintings and portraits. Prudhons artistic style contrasted starkly with the dominant version of Neoclassicism under Jacques-Louis David. His paintings were based on classical texts and ancient prototypes; but his dreaminess and melancholy were more akin to Romanticism. Prudhons drawings; often black chalk on blue paper; were not widely admired in his lifetime. Other artists during his time used these combined materials to study the figure; but Prudhon took the form to new heights throughout his career. Although sidelined in his life; Prudhons insights in drawing would beckon future generations with their enigmatic testimony to sublime beauty. His technique evolved into a beautiful style that attracted many fans up to present day.

I found it simple to use. As a real novice it did give me some tunes to practice and ways to hold my fingers. I was unable to continue with the class and I must say I really like looking up songs on how to play the ukulele on you tube and hear someone playing them. Pricespends more energy teaching single notes and reading notes on the staff and less teaching chords than id prefer but still a good teaching manual. tge dvd adds value.
