Prior to his arrival; the flute was a secondary instrument for saxophonists; but Mann found a unique voice for the flute; presenting it in different musical contexts; beginning with Afro-Cuban; and then continuing with music from Brazil; the Middle East; the Caribbean; Japan; and Eastern Europe. As Mann once said; "People would say to me; I dont know where you are right now; and I would respond; And youre not going to know where Im going to be tomorrow." A self-described restless spirit; Herbie Mann also was a master at marketing himself. His insatiable curiosity about the world led him to experiment with different kinds of sounds; becoming a virtual Pied Piper of jazz. He attracted thousands to his concerts while alienating purists and critics alike. His career lasted for five decades; from his beginnings in a tiny Brooklyn nightclub to appearances on international stages. "I want to be as synonymous with the flute as Benny Goodman is for the clarinet;" he was fond of saying. By the time he died of prostate cancer in 2003; he had fulfilled his desire.

I recently got into coloringBy SilverdogUnlike some other Kindle coloring books; this one has a link to download and print these on your own. I like that. I recently got into coloring. Its something my son and I can do together while we are at the cabin relaxing. But i still like to look at books and see what is out there it makes me smile even if im not buying i still love to look. These e books are great for that i can look them over review them for you and if i like them buy them. But his one i would skip there the same old butterfly mandala type pictures that are in every book. But they are all in one book i guess if you are really into butterflies. I am not some of these are simple but there are some that are more intracate. These are ok if this is your thing it is not mine really. But you may really enjoy it. Nice Coloring Book With ButterfliesBy AbbyThis is a very good mix of intricate and simple pictures of butterflies to color in this book. I received this free on my Kindle for preview purposes only. The pictures in the book could be colored by children; teenagers; and maybe adults. There are only 14 pictures on my Kindle; but it says there are 32 pages so the price seems a bit high. There is a link in the book so you can download free coloring pages; but not for this book specifically. There are several to choose from; but only 3 are for adults.
