Fredericksburg; one of Americas most historic cities; sits midpoint between the nations capital and Richmond. Many visitors come to this city to walk in the footsteps of illustrious Americans; admire their homes; view the battlefields nearby; and enjoy true Southern hospitality. Following a broadcasting career in California and New York; author Tony Kent retired to Fredericksburg where he and 12 others founded the Central Rappahannock Heritage Center; a regional archive for the grass roots history of the city and its four neighboring counties. Many never-before-published images in this volume are from the centers collection.

This book helped me to learn how German immigrants lived and what the Bronx looked like in their day.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. GreatBy Jean9Very interesting. My Grandparent and parents grew up there and I was born there. It is like seeing what my Grandparents saw with some history I would not know now that they are gone.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. The BronxBy DogmanNot having lived in the Bronx since entering Military Service 50 years ago. it was nostalgic to review my youth in the Bronx. To see where I lived. went to school. enjoyed different neighborhoods. was a way to rekindle good memories. The book was comprehensive enough to cover most of my youth. yet not so detailed as to become tedious.
