Makeup; as we know it; has only been commercially available in the last 100 years; but applying decoration to the face and body may be one of the oldest global social practices. In Face Paint; Lisa Eldridge reveals the entire history of the art form; from Egyptian and Classical times up through the Victorian age and golden era of Hollywood; and also surveys the cutting-edge makeup science of today and tomorrow. Face Paint explores the practical and idiosyncratic reasons behind makeups use; the actual materials employed over generations; and the glamorous icons that people emulate and how they achieved their effects. An engaging history of style; it is also a social history of women and the ways in which we can understand their lives through the prism and impact of makeup.

It has all the hits and a few more tracks. The book makes note that some of the songs were recorded with guitars tuned in C...which explains why its been hard to pinpoint that actual recording sound on those tracks. They tastefully use a more practical open G tuning and the tabs are good and sound is pretty good. They transcribe some piano for songs like Bad Co and its quite doable (meaning you dont need three hands or have to do crazy hand/finger stretches to make it sound good). They use one guitar track in the tab for songs that have multiple tracks on the recording but I think they are pretty good about documenting when that is.Overall; if you want to learn to play Bad Co hits well; then this is the best book I have ever come across for it.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Bad bad companyBy CustomerNice collection. Who doesnt like some "bad company"? Everyone who tries to sound like bad company will probably fail...I dont like the "dangerous toys" cover of "feel like making love " for example..but its cool to figure out what the band was doing. And what an impressive debut album they had...every song was a hit...it was like "thriller" for the "blues rock" crowd.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
