Stacking the Deck: Secrets of the World's Master Card Architect

[PDF] Stacking the Deck: Secrets of the World's Master Card Architect by Bryan Berg at Arts-Photography

Description

This is a book about the theater phenomenon. It is an extension of notes on the theater and theatergoing that have been accumulating for some time. It does not have an argument; or set out to prove a thesis; and it will not be one of those useful books one reads for the fruits of its research. Rather; it is a form of critical description that is phenomenological in the sense that it focuses on the activity of theater making itself out of its essential materials: speech; sound; movement; scenery; text; etc. Like most phenomenological description; it will succeed to the extent that it awakens the readers memory of his own perceptual encounters with theater. If the book fails in this it will be about as interesting to read as an anthology of someone elses dreams. In any case; this book is less concerned with the scientific purity of my perspetive and method than with retrieving something from the theater experience that seems to me worthy of our critical admiration.

Interesting book with a lot of good tips and techniques for beginners interested in card stackingBy Random ConsumerInteresting book with a lot of good tips and techniques for beginners interested in card stacking. Most of the learning. however is done by trying to copy images and vague descriptions. A lot of this stuff I had already understood from free online sources. That being said there are still some interesting nuggets of information not found anywhere else.If you are a beginner and have limited knowledge of card stacking. or if you are interested in reading about Berg. this is a great resource. Personally I found a lot of information to be redundant to stuff I had already seen/knew.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. My son loves thisBy KarinThis rating is for my son. who has been a Bryan Berg fan for years. We finally broke down and bought the book rather than borrow it from he library again. I have to say that my son has learned to make impressive card houses. Of course. I am his mother. so you can take that with a grain of salt. but some of them have reached the ceiling of his bedroom. been from this book. or been of his own design.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Method works even for clumsy handsBy Nihal MehtaWhat I found amazing about this book is that within the first few pages. you will learn the basic technique to stack cards and start building some phenomenal structures. And. even if you are clumsy. your structures will still attract admiring comments. My daughter. who is 6. has started building and enjoys it more than lego.
