Stella! Mother of Modern Acting

[ePub] Stella! Mother of Modern Acting by Sheana Ochoa in Arts-Photography

Description

For more than a millennium; from its creation in 330 CE until its fall in 1453; the Byzantine Empire was a cradle of artistic effervescence that is only beginning to be rediscovered. Endowed with the rich heritage of Roman; Eastern; and Christian cultures; Byzantine artists developed an architectural and pictorial tradition; marked by symbolism; whose influence extended far beyond the borders of the Empire. Today; Italy; North Africa; and the Near East preserve the vestiges of this sophisticated artistic tradition; with all of its mystical and luminous beauty. The magnificence of the palaces; churches; paintings; enamels; ceramics; and mosaics from this civilisation guarantees Byzantine arts powerful influence and timelessness.

DetlTo start off; I dont own this version of the book; I own the first edition published 3 years earlier. I have no problems with an updated version from the first one but I have no idea why it was released when it was basically a month or two before the release of their latest record Hardwired for Self Destruction. It has been 8 years since the release of their last record so Metallica releasing a new official studio record is a monumental event in their career timeline as studio records do not come often. So my question is why release an updated version of this book with no official studio releases between updates knowing that a new record worthy of documenting is to be released within months of publishing an update? Not only is there a new studio record to document but there will be a world tour; many tv appearances; Grammy nominations and performances; reviews of the record to document; interviews from the band regarding the new release etc; all events worthy of inclusion of an update from a band of this magnitude. It just seems like jumping the gun to release an update wasnt necessary at this point; certainly a couple of extra chapters could have been included by waiting a year or so to update thusly giving the purchaser a bigger bang for their buck especially if they had already purchased the first edition. I would love to hear Martin Popoffs reasoning behind the timing of this release now.
