Description

Phoenixs Manzanita Speedway; the last of the big dirt tracks located near the central corridor of a major metropolitan area; is now gone. The track opened in the early 1950s when Jack Holloway; president of the Arizona Jalopy Racing Association; along with Avery Doyle and Gene Gunn; set about convincing Rudy Everett and Larry Meskimen to convert their unprofitable dog-racing operation into a quarter-mile dirt track. On August 25; 1951; Everett and Meskimen beamed with excitement as Manzy opened to an overflowing crowd. They had tapped into Americas post-World War II craze for automobiles and found their own Lost Dutchman Gold Mine in the process. Manzanita Speedway dominated dirt-track racing in Phoenix and was heralded as one of the top five dirt tracks in the United States. Manzy became an integral part of the racing culture in Phoenix; and its sale and closure in 2009 created a sense of lingering disappointment.

Took me a year of casual coin holding to get comfortable with the classic Palm. But Im taking a patient approach and not rushing things. It will take me years to get through this book but The descriptions are really good with decent photos. For newbies like myself (Im a year in but casually learning); I also recommend getting the DVD or download video of "In the Beginning There Were Coins" by Jay Noblezada. Great teacher and not only shows the moves but shares but the pitfalls. Love love loved this DVD.Another good DVD is Metal by Eric Jones.Be patient and put in the time. It was all worth it first time I did a classic vanish to friends. And thats childs play. Enjoy!2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. great to have it in digital formatBy Mariano E. SteelefalconLots of tricks you no longer see in mainstream magic. Awesome to learn slight of hand that very few magicians know or can teach. Very difficult but addictive if you love constantly tinkering with your hands. Good luck deciphering the language though if you are illiterate.
