Alcuni scrivono per se stessi e; a volte; ne scopriamo il pensiero solo dopo la loro morte; percheacute; viene deciso di rendere pubblico il loro lavoro da parte di terzi. Lrsquo;edizione di un romanzo; invece; trae la sua origine dalla precisa volontagrave; di qualcuno di raccontare ad altri una storia. Non tutti i libri; neacute; tutti i racconti sono; per lrsquo;Autore; perograve;; destinati a tutti. Alcuni mirano ad interessare solo una determinata fascia di lettori. Il ldquo;Lord Henry di Alphardquo; di Alessandro Faonio punta chiaramente a questo. Lo si nota da subito; sia dal linguaggio che dallo stile della scrittura; in modo da stimolare e far proseguire nella lettura solo coloro che ne abbiano veramente desiderio. Nel libro; infatti; il racconto egrave; pretesto per unrsquo;analisi piugrave; attenta di aspetti che caratterizzano il pensiero.Il romanzo; quindi; inteso proprio come racconto; serve solo da base che sostenga; gradevolmente; una profonda diesamina filosofica. Questo egrave; il vero ldquo;corpo del testordquo; e questo dovrebbe arrivare; a mio avviso; al lettore; molto piugrave; che la mera comprensione dei fatti legati alla storia narrata. La dimostrazione si ha nel finale; dove le varianti possibili sono infinite; proprio a dimostrare che; dato che il pensiero muove lrsquo;azione; ogni azione puograve; essere diversa in base alla visione che si ha rispetto agli accadimenti.Lautore non intende convincere il lettore su qualcosa; non cerca veritagrave; assolute; anzi; ma fa capire come il fermarsi alla superficie del pensiero non egrave; mai in grado di darci risposte appaganti. Egli ottiene tale riflessione da parte del lettore; a mio avviso; non solo attraverso il linguaggio o lo stile con cui si esprime; ma anche; e soprattutto; grazie alla capacitagrave; di costruire un ldquo;sottotestordquo; che; impossibile da non cogliere per chi metteragrave; un minimo di attenzione nella lettura; potragrave; entrare in profonditagrave; nella mente e; di conseguenza; nel pensiero di chi avragrave; la fortuna di leggere questo libro.

Since Fox Channel has the new Show on Monday nights about Sleepy Hollow; I decided to get this Kindle book to re-read Sleepy Hollow. I had forgottenmost of the story. If a person would like to know about the original story this book is ideal. The illustrations add understanding about the plot.Of course; the TV Show has the Headless Horseman who is killing folks. The story takes place in 21st century. Since Sleep Hollow is being filmed in Wilmington;.; New Bern; and Salisbury; N.C. and other areas in our great state; it is fun to see if you can recognize some of the scenes.I would recommend Rip Van Winkle and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow to be read to anyone who loves history and a little mystery. Irving himself had the opportunity to view these illustrations in an earlier edition. This is coffee table type book; but not a cumbersome size. A nice change of pace for the casual readerBy Charles WilliamsIm retired now and havent read this since I was a kid. I realize now its the vocabulary of the story thats exciting not the story itself. No one can identify with any of this stuff now because times have changed so much. Headless horseman? Get real; its chainsaws and zombies now that scare people plus the fact that these stories have been told so many times in so many different ways that it has lost a lot of its impact.. The language though is very exciting. I find myself looking up words that I just dont come across everyday anymore.. A nice change of pace for the casual reader.
