Suite Espanola; Op. 47 (Manuel Barrueco Guitar Editions)

[audiobook] Suite Espanola; Op. 47 (Manuel Barrueco Guitar Editions) by Isaac Albeniz in Arts-Photography

Description

Just before sunset on September 20; 1955; James Byron Deans Porsche 550 Spyder collided with Donald Gene Turnupseeds Ford Tudor on California Highway 46. At age twenty-four; Americas newest screen idol was dead. What really happened? Drawing on the inquest manuscript and other previously unpublished material; Warren Beath cuts through the welter of conflicting reports and rumors to provide a taut reconstruciton of Deans final hours. In addition; Beath has explored every nook and cranny of the Dean legend; and his book is studded with fascinating asides: Elvis Presleys worship of Dean; Deans strange friendship with Maila Nurmi; TVs Vampyra and star of the gloriously execrable Plan 9 From Outer Space; Hitchcocks use of Highway 46 in the famous crop-dusting scene in North by Northwest; death threats against Giant director George Stevens if he dared excise so much as a single frame of Deans performance. Beaths definitive account of James Deans death concludes with a memorable portrait of the James Dean cult; a strangely moving record of his posthumous life in the hearts of his adoring fans.

MardinlyDisappointing so far considering Manuel Barruecos stature as a truly great guitarist. While I was waiting for it. I downloaded another free transcription of "Cadiz" so I could get started working on it. When I finally got the Barrueco in the mail. I found that many parts of the free transcription by an unknown person were actually far superior to those same parts in the Barrueco version. So. I did a little "cut and paste" to combine them. Also. the free version. containing the exact same amount of music was just 2.5 pages long. while the Barrueco version was SIX pages long. due to excessive space between the staves. excessive space between the notes. and writing out a full section for which a simple repeat would have sufficed. Maybe he was getting a commission for selling paper. but practicing musicians prefer to avoid page turns if possible.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
