Suzuki Violin School - Volume 2 (Revised): Violin Part

[audiobook] Suzuki Violin School - Volume 2 (Revised): Violin Part by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki in Arts-Photography

Description

We all have an animal storymdash;the pet we loved; the wild animal that captured our childhood imagination; the deer the neighbor hit while driving. While scientific breakthroughs in animal cognition; the effects of global climate change and dwindling animal habitats; and the exploding interdisciplinary field of animal studies have complicated things; such stories remain a part of how we tell the story of being human. Animal Acts collects eleven exciting; provocative; and moving stories by solo performers; accompanied by commentary that places the works in a broader context.Work by leading theater artists Holly Hughes; Rachel Rosenthal; Deke Weaver; Carmelita Tropicana; and others joins commentary by major scholars including Donna Haraway; Jane Desmond; Jill Dolan; and Nigel Rothfels. Una Chaudhurirsquo;s introduction provides a vital foundation for understanding and appreciating the intersection of animal studies and performance. The anthology foregrounds questions of race; gender; sexuality; class; nation; and other issues central to the human project within the discourse of the ldquo;post human;rdquo; and will appeal to readers interested in solo performance; animal studies; gender studies; performance studies; and environmental studies.

The book is a MacNally at his best. Starting with basics; always keeping the reader interested by adding good real life stories. He knows how to write photography books. This is a must for every beginner. Now for the bad part. The Kindle edition is one of the worst I ever had. From my devices (Kindle Keyboard; Paperwhite; iPhone; iPad; Mac) it only works on the I-devices. Bummer! And when it works; it only is some kind of PDF without any reflow or adaption to the device. To be honest; this is not an ebook. This is just some pre-layouted pages transferred as images.Just buy another edition of this great book!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. On these devices; the book cannot be loaded and displayed correctly. From other readers experience; it is not even compatible with all kindle devices. Better than I expectedBy MikeI was looking for a book to take along on a business trip and wanted something smaller than a full size book. This book was terrific for the trip. While many photography books almost need a camera to follow along; this book is so well written that it can stand by itself delivering both knowledge and enjoyment. I spent four days in hotels; enjoyed the read; and couldnt wait to get home and explore what Id learned with my camera. Im a long time film shooter whos just learning to adjust to the digital world - I still think is ASA and not ISO. This was money well spent.
