The Selby Is in Your Place was conceived when fashion and interiors photographer Todd Selby began taking portraits of dynamic and creative people—authors; musicians; artists; and designers—in their home environments and posting them on his web site. Nosy by nature; he wanted to see how personal style was reflected in private spaces. Lucky for us; he found his answer in the color-rich and eclectic quarters of a diverse group of subjects; including Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler; Faris Rotter; Andre Walker; and Olivier Zahm; in New York; Los Angeles; Paris; Tokyo; Sydney; and London. Each profile is accompanied by Selbyrsquo;s watercolor portraits of the subjects and objects from their homes; and illustrated questionnaires; which Selby asks each sitter to fill out. This book consists of over thirty profiles; many of which have never-before-seen; selected exclusively for the book. The result is a collection of unique spaces bursting with energy and personality that together create a colorful hodgepodge of inspirational interiors.

What a gem and some really wonderful patterns already working.10 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Classy and elegant; not to complicatedBy haleybopThis book is Super-classy. I mean; like; some of these patterns; Irsquo;d fell like I would have to do my hair and makeup just to make them; let alone wear them. theyrsquo;re highly elegant and very flattering (at least; they are on the models). All of them except one; a random cropped jacket thatrsquo;s all bobbles. It didnrsquo;t fit with the rest of the collection at all. These were the kind of sweaters and camisoles you go into an expensive shop and yoursquo;re afraid to touch the yarn because itrsquo;s like a whole paycheck if you accidently get something on it.Classy.There were several light sweaters and cardigans; a few designed for outerwear; a camisole; a couple dresses; a hat; and a purse. I was a little surprised not to see a skirt in the collection but I did love what was there.Also. One of the prettiest cabled sweaters Irsquo;ve ever seen. The book also details how to go about measuring; fitting; and sizing your new classy wardrobe. There were clear instructions and diagrams all the way through. Most of the patterns use needles between size 5 and 7. There are a few size 3; and the projects that are felted use 10.5. Irsquo;d recommend to intermediate knitters who want a really nice project but donrsquo;t want to go highly complicated.0 of 4 people found the following review helpful.
