I have seen and wondered about most of these monuments since my early childhood. "The Story Behind the Stone" satisfied my curiosity in a simple. straight forward and entertaining manner. It also provided me with ample detail concerning the individuals depicted. the creators. dates. symbolism and genesis of the interest in creating the monuments. I recommend this book to everyone who is interested in the history of New Orleans. LA and even the United States. as many of the people honored by these monuments had a major impact on our country as well. This book was enjoyable and educational. I will definitely buy a number of books to give as gifts.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
